We’re a small, fully remote team testing home water treatment products and sharing the results on our website and YouTube channel. If you’d like to help us do that better, have a look below.
Who We Are
Five people across three countries: one in Germany, one in Poland, three in the US. There’s no office and never has been. Most of the day-to-day happens in Teams.
We’ve tested around 100 products so far, and our videos have picked up a few million views along the way. BOS Water® isn’t one brand in a portfolio. It’s the only thing we work on.
We started on YouTube and the website has been catching up ever since. Both run side by side now, but video is where we came from and where most people still find us.
Why Work With Us
- 1. You talk to the people you’re working with. No account manager in between, no ticket queue. Feedback comes back quickly.
- 2. Your ideas count. If you see a better way to do something, say so. We’ll try it.
- 3. Work when you work best. We’re already split across Europe and the US, so we’re set up for it.
- 4. There’s room to grow. We’re limited by capacity, not demand. Whoever helps us fix that grows with us.
- 5. Freelance can become permanent. We’d rather find the right person once and keep them.
Open Positions
Freelance Video Editor
- Location: Remote
- Type: Freelance/contract, with potential to become full-time
- Department: Video Production
- Start: As soon as we find the right person
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative and skilled video editor to help elevate our YouTube channel. Our videos run 10 to 30 minutes. We currently publish 2–3 per month, limited mainly by manpower, and we plan to increase that.
This starts as a freelance engagement, but we’re not looking for a one-off gig. We want a long-term partner who grows with the channel. If the collaboration works well for both sides, we’re happy to move this into a permanent, full-time position.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Footage editing: organizing, trimming, and arranging raw footage into a compelling, well-paced narrative
- Visual appeal: transitions, effects, graphics, and text overlays that lift quality and keep viewers watching
- Audio: syncing voiceovers and sound effects, keeping everything clear and balanced
- Color: correction and grading where needed
- Collaboration and revisions: working closely with our team, integrating feedback, and staying consistent with our brand guidelines
- Delivery: hitting deadlines and managing your own project timelines
You’re Probably a Good Fit if You Have
- Proven experience editing for YouTube, ideally with product review content in your portfolio
- Proficiency in a main editing suite (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve) and in After Effects for motion graphics
- A strong sense of timing, narrative structure, and visual storytelling
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate clearly
- An interest in growing with a channel long-term rather than taking a one-off job
Nice to Have
- Experience with technical or explainer content. A lot of our footage is installations, test procedures, and lab data.
- Thumbnail design
- An eye for retention: hooks, chapter structure, and knowing where a long video sags
What We Offer
- Ongoing work that increases as our output grows
- A clear path from contract to full-time
- Fully remote, flexible hours
- Direct contact with a small team and quick decisions
- Pay per video or hourly, whichever suits the project, agreed up front so you always know what it’s worth
How to Apply
Email us at jobs@bos-water.com.
Please include:
- Your portfolio or showreel, plus 2-3 samples closest to what we do. If a sample was team work, tell us what you did on it.
- Your estimated turnaround time for a 10-15 minute video
- Your rate, per finished video or hourly
- Where you’re based and your time zone
- How many videos per month you could take on
- The software you work in
Optional, but it helps: Your CV, and one thing you’d change about any of our recent videos.
If nothing above fits but you think you’d be a good match for what we do, send us a note anyway.
