Our Verdict (Best For)
The iSpring CKC1 produced mediocre lab results and clean-tasting water but has no NSF/ANSI-certified contaminants or third-party testing. Usability is solid: setup is easy with one included adapter (fits standard taps only). Replacing the standard-sized 10″ filter cartridge is also simple; no indicator light, but the CKC1C model has clear housing for filter inspection. Dispensing is splash-free, yielding 1 cup in a very fast ~3.75 sec (suitable for most users), and the valve easily switches between filtered/unfiltered water. No leaks but drips from faucet when moved and after dispensing. Overall, has a sturdy, compact, BPA-free plastic build, but faucet wiggles a bit and tubing gets in the way of normal sink use. Despite low costs, with its disappointing lab results, it’s not one of our preferred countertop water filters.
iSpring CKC1 & CKC1C
The iSpring CKC1 & CKC1C are identical in terms of price, performance, and usability. The only difference is the see-through housing of the CKC1C model, which enables visual inspection of the filter.
The iSpring CKC1 (CKC1C) is a countertop water filter that attaches directly to your kitchen faucet. It’s designed for use as a drinking water filter and can purify both tap water and properly disinfected well water (pre-treatment may be required).
As usual, we’ve tested the system with our own hands:
- Hands-on experience: We assembled, primed, used, and maintained it.
- Filtration effectiveness: We sent an unfiltered and a filtered tap water sample to a professional laboratory for analysis to determine real-world contaminant reduction. We also reviewed NSF/ANSI certifications and other available test data.
- More testing: We conducted taste and odor evaluations as well as dispensing speed tests.

Full Analysis of the iSpring CKC1 & CKC1C
Filtration: /5.00
The iSpring CKC1 (CKC1C) scored 2.10/5.00 for filtration. How? Most importantly, it achieved mediocre results in our 2024 lab testing, though the filtered water had a clean taste and no odor. The system has no NSF/ANSI certifications or third-party testing for contaminant reduction.
1. Lab Results: /5.00
Remember that our before vs after lab comparison is not an exact science. It’s informational and subject to variability, inaccuracies, and interferences caused by natural fluctuations in water quality, accidental contamination, human error, instrumentation issues, and more. Furthermore, our lab testing is limited to those contaminants present in our water supplies and at their respective concentrations, which is why the results may contradict third-party test data. As such, our lab testing can only give us a general idea for how effective a certain water treatment product might be.
In our lab test comparing an unfiltered and a filtered tap water sample, the iSpring CKC1 could remove 5 undesirable impurities and contaminants to below the minimum detection level (so essentially to 100%): chlorine, bromodichloromethane, dibromochloromethane, chloroform, and nitrate.
The following substances remained in our water (note: in our view, most concentration increases are generally due to leaching, although natural fluctuations cannot be ruled out):
- Copper decreased by 50%.
- Barium wasn’t reduced at all.
- Boron decreased by 20%.
- Zinc wasn’t reduced at all.
- Lithium wasn’t reduced at all.
- Strontium increased by 5%. At 0.46 ppm, it was 3.26x lower than the strictest strontium health guideline we could find (1.5 ppm, EWG). Associated effects above that guideline include harm to bones.
- Fluoride increased by 40%. That said, we’re confident the iSpring CKC1 doesn’t leach fluoride, as we don’t know of any fluoride-containing filter media.
- Uranium wasn’t reduced at all.

2. NSF/ANSI Certifications and Other Test Data
The iSpring CKC1 does not have any NSF/ANSI certifications for contaminant reduction. It also lacks third-party testing for contaminant removal.
3. Filtration Process
The iSpring CKC1 filter cartridge has the following components:
- Particle filtration (mechanical filtration) acts like a sieve to trap solid, undissolved impurities like sand, rust, and dirt.
- Coconut-shell activated carbon removes things like bad tastes and odors, chlorine/chloramine, disinfection byproducts and other organics, as well as certain metals. In addition, the 5-micron block structure provides fine mechanical filtration due to its smaller pore size compared to granular carbon.

In our test, the filtered water was odorless and had a perfectly clean taste.

The iSpring CKC1 achieved a usability score of 4.33/5.00, based on its performance in the following categories:

1. Initial Setup & Filter Priming: /1.50
Assembling the iSpring CKC1 is easy. The instruction booklet provides clear directions for each step along with a few basic illustrations. There’s also a helpful tutorial video on YouTube.
Like any faucet-connect water filter, this unit is only compatible with standard-sized faucets – it is not designed to be used with pull-down or spray-style models, for example. The system includes one faucet adapter to facilitate installation.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the setup procedure:
- Wash and dry your hands.
- Unscrew the housing from the filter cap (counterclockwise direction when viewed from above).
- Remove shrink wrap from filter cartridge and reinsert in housing, with the center hole going into the housing cap. Ensure housing O-ring is in place.
- Screw housing back onto filter cap, twisting it in a clockwise direction to hand tight. If needed, twist an additional 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn with included wrench.
- Remove aerator from kitchen faucet.
- If necessary, screw on the included adapter onto faucet. Screw the diverter valve onto the faucet or adapter as applicable. The O-ring should be used between the faucet and adapter or diverter.
- Remove the nut from the ¼″ knob on the diverter valve and slide it onto the tubing.
- Push tubing onto the knob and tighten the nut to secure it.
- Holding unit upside down over the sink, partially turn on cold tap, and pull valve switch on diverter to horizontal position to allow water to fill the unit.
- Check for leaks. Place the unit upright once it is full.
- Run water into the sink for at least 10 minutes, then stand the filter upright for 24 hours without additional use.
- After 24 hours, flush the filter for another 5 minutes.
- Now your system is ready to use.




2. Day-to-Day Use: /2.50
2.1 Speed & Water Capacity: /2.50
The iSpring CKC1 is suited for daily use and offers very fast dispensing speed. The system filtered and dispensed 1 cup in ~3.75 sec and 4 cups in ~8.5 sec in our filtration speed tests. That means it filters fast enough to meet the daily water needs of the average-sized US households (~2.55-3.15 people), including 8-10 cup/hour thirst bursts.

2.2 Dispensing: /0.00
Dispensing water is very fast and splash-free. The plastic lever on the diverter valve is simple to use, permitting easy switching between filtered and unfiltered water. Plus, the unit feels sturdy and stable on the counter and didn’t seem likely to topple or slide around.
The pour starts and stops promptly, and we did not experience leaks from any of the connections. That said, we did notice dripping from the faucet after the tap was turned off.
Most standard 40-oz bottles should fit under the spout without tilting, as its height is 9.7″ from the base. However, you can’t fit a standard 2-quart carafe under the spout, as it’s not high enough.


2.3 Refilling & Size: /0.00
Refills are not needed with the iSpring CKC1, as it does not utilize a feed tank. Instead, it processes water in real time as it is dispensed from the tap.
Measuring 8.4″x12.6″x4.6″ (WxHxD), it fits under most kitchen cabinets (18″ clearance), and at 4.8 lbs with a wet filter installed, its weight is about average for the faucet-connect water filters that we tested.
The iSpring’s very compact size saves space on your counter, though the exposed tubing can still get in the way. More specifically, the unit takes up a mere ~38.64 in2 (~0.27 ft2) of countertop real estate.

2.4 Other: /0.00
We noticed the faucet dripped when moving the unit around on our counter. Plus, it’s hard to find a convenient place for this system, as the tubes can get in the way of normal sink use.
3. Filter Replacements: /1.00
Filter replacements are very simple. The filter is easily accessible, though you must first open the housing with the provided wrench.
There’s no filter change indicator, but the transparent housing of the CKC1C model allows for filter inspection at a glance (the CKC1’s opaque housing does not permit this).
Rated filter life is 8,000 gal or 3-12 months, though the iSpring website also states, “It is recommended to replace the filters every 6 months.” This appears to be a reasonable suggestion, as these cartridges are also used as pre-filters in the iSpring under sink RO systems. As RO prefilters are commonly replaced twice yearly, this should be a practical estimate for the filters’ longevity in the CKC1 model as well.

Based on value for money, the iSpring CKC1 achieved a cost score of 5.00 out of 5.00, indicating it is priced below average for what it offers compared to competing systems (a score of 4.00 represents average value). Notably, its upfront price is slightly below average, and its annual filter replacement costs are well below average compared to the other countertop water filters we tested.
1. Upfront Price
As of Jul 13, 2026, the iSpring CKC1 is priced at $49.99, which is slightly below the $60 average we estimate for this type of water filter.
2. Long-Term Expenses for Filter Replacements
Based on 500 gallons consumption and an 8,000-gal or 3- to 12-month filter life for the filter cartridge, we estimate $22-88 in annual filter replacement costs, which is substantially to well below the $120.11 average across all the tested countertop water filters. However, based off of similar elements used as pre-filters in RO systems (as well as additional recommendations from the manufacturer), twice yearly filter changes may be most appropriate. This would bring ongoing filter replacement costs to a well-below-average $44 yearly.
3. Product Warranty
The iSpring CKC1 comes with a 1-year warranty, and the manufacturer also offers quite a generous return policy. For open box products that are not defective (i.e., containing defaults in materials or workmanship), customers receive a 70% or 50% refund if returned within 1-3 months or 3-6 months after purchase, respectively.

While we did not experience leaking from the connections, we did notice dripping from the faucet after turning off the tap or when moving the unit around on our counter. We also noted lackluster filtration in our lab testing, particularly due to the system’s disappointing contaminant reduction.
Bottom Line: User-Friendly and Highly Affordable – But Unimpressive Contaminant Removal (/5.00)
Filtration weighted at 60%, and usability and cost at 20% each, the iSpring CKC1 scored a final rating of 3.13 out of 5.00.
Filtration performance was quite poor overall, largely due to its mediocre lab results. The system only fully removed 5 out of 13 contaminants in our lab test and achieved little to no reduction for most of the remainder. And while it produced filtered water that tasted and smelled perfectly clean, it lacks NSF/ANSI-certified contaminants or third-party testing for contaminant reduction.
Usability is solid: it’s very easy to set up and prime. We installed the system onto our faucet without a hitch, and the included adapter enables the right fit. However, it is only compatible with standard kitchen faucets, limiting its versatility.
Filtration and dispensing occur simultaneously, and the speed is very fast and splash-free at ~3.75 seconds per cup (suitable for most households). We didn’t notice any leaking, though our unit dripped a bit after the tap was turned off and when moving it around on our counter. The diverter valve makes it easy to switch between filtered and unfiltered water.
Filter changes (10″ standard-sized cartridge allows for off-brand replacements) are very easy, though you need to use the included filter wrench.
